Our Story

Many of our clients have asked how Nature’s Potions began. The journey started in 2014 when I made the decision to take control of my health and move toward natural, holistic options—without the unwanted side effects that often accompany conventional lotions, pills, and injections.

For years, I struggled with what doctors referred to as a “sensitivity” to anti-inflammatory medications. My body was constantly inflamed, and the standard medical response was simply to prescribe more medications that left me feeling worse. I knew there had to be another way, and that search for healthier alternatives is what sparked the beginning of Nature’s Potions.

At the time, I was running my own daycare, and I saw firsthand how many children also struggled with persistent issues—eczema, congestion, coughs, and the usual ailments of little ones in group settings. Many of the products and treatments available brought side effects like drowsiness, irritability, or rashes. Even earlier, during my years as a Montessori teacher working with six to nine-year-olds, I noticed the same patterns.

Around this time, my daughter introduced me to the world of essential oils, and everything changed. I dove into research, took classes, experimented with creating my own blends, and quickly experienced the positive impact of natural ingredients. That journey led me to pursue professional training and become a certified aromatherapist.

As I learned more about essential oil safety and formulation, I began sharing what I made with the parents and children in my daycare. The results were encouraging. Together, we became more aware of how many unnecessary chemicals exist in everyday skincare, cleaning products, and personal care products—and how these can affect our bodies, our children, and even our planet. 

Soon, people began asking if they could purchase my products, and many requested blends tailored to their specific needs. I have always loved a creative challenge, and these personalized requests quickly spread through word of mouth. As demand grew, I found myself spending more and more time making products—until eventually, Nature’s Potions was officially born. 

In 2016, I closed my daycare to focus on this work. I spent time working at a garden center, continuing my education, deepening my herbal knowledge, and expanding my understanding of natural wellness. As orders increased, I eventually dedicated myself fully to creating healthy, chemical-free products for those seeking a more natural way of living.

Today, Nature’s Potions remains a small, handcrafted, heart-led business. Every product is created with care, knowledge, and intention—just as it was in the beginning.
