Many of our customers have asked how Nature’s Potions began. The journey started in 2014, when I became more intentional about the ingredients in the personal-care products I used and began exploring botanical alternatives that complemented a simpler, more mindful lifestyle.

For years, I had difficulty finding products that felt right for me. This inspired me to read labels more carefully, learn about different ingredients, and reconsider the products that were part of my everyday routine.

At the time, I was operating my own daycare. Before that, I had worked as a Montessori teacher with children between six and nine years old. These experiences made me especially aware of the choices families make about the skincare, personal-care, and household products they use around their children.

Around this time, my daughter introduced me to essential oils, and a new passion began. I immersed myself in research, took classes, and experimented with creating carefully balanced blends. As my interest grew, I pursued professional training and became a certified aromatherapist, developing a deeper understanding of essential oil safety, responsible dilution, ingredient selection, and thoughtful formulation.

I began making small batches and sharing them with families from my daycare. They appreciated the care that went into each product, and our conversations encouraged all of us to become more thoughtful about the ingredients in the products we use every day.

Before long, people began asking if they could purchase my creations. Others requested products with particular aromas, ingredients, or formats that suited their personal preferences. I have always enjoyed a creative challenge, and word of mouth gradually brought more people to my door. As interest grew, I found myself spending more and more time formulating and handcrafting products—and Nature’s Potions was born.

In 2016, I closed my daycare to focus on this new chapter. I spent time working at a garden center while continuing my education, expanding my knowledge of plants and botanicals, and refining my approach to personal-care formulation. As orders increased, I eventually dedicated myself fully to Nature’s Potions.

Today, Nature’s Potions remains a small, handcrafted, heart-led business. Every product is thoughtfully created with care, knowledge, and intention—just as it was in the beginning.
